Panam City

The archaeological ruins of an ancient city which is situated at Sonargaon. The city area which covers roughly 20 square kilometers, consists of several historical buildings built centuries ago connected with the history of Baro-Bhuiyan. Once this city was city was important trading and political center. This city is also known as a ghost city/abandoned city thus the peoples of this city has left without any known issues.

Sonargaon Folk & Art Museum

In Bengali Luk Shilpa Jadughar was established by Bangladeshi well known painter Joynul Abedin on March 12, 1975. The main museum concentrates its attention to the skills and expertise of the artisans and artists of the country. The two smaller Folk Arts and Crafts Museums exhibit wooden crafts, brass, bamboo and metal crafts, painted work, musical instruments, pottery, textiles, ornaments and much more.

Jamdani Weaving

Originally, the base for the Jamdani technique was muslin—the finest cloth ever woven by human hand. Jamdani is a discontinuous weft technique of weaving, and can be defined as the art of fine ‘Parsi Gara' done on the loom. It is like tapestry work where small shuttles of coloured, gold or silver threads pass through the weft. Designs range from the “butidar” (wherein the entire sari is dispersed with florals), the “tercha” (diagonally striped florals), or “jhalar” (a network of floral motifs).

Batik Village

Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth. This technique originated from the island of Java, Indonesia. This place is highly regarded for its exquisite hand-printed colorful cotton (Batik) fabrics made by local craftsmen using methods passed on from one generation to the next.
